Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities & Transport is adopting integrated BIM and AI solutions to facilitate obtaining building permits in the emirate.

A Building Information Modelling platform, Automated Plan Review System and chatbot to provide virtual assistance will handle procedures for submitting, reviewing and approving building permits with high efficiency and accuracy.

The BIM platform will use AI to conduct automatic compliance tests with the emirate’s building codes.

Consultants will be able to submit traditional two-dimensional engineering drawings and the system will convert them into 3D models to conduct a comprehensive project review.

The platform provides integrated support through a chatbot, which makes it easier for users to access information about building laws and legislation in multiple languages, with the aim of enhancing compliance and ensuring that plans are approved more easily.
